What Site Conditions Make Pervious Concrete a Bad Idea?

Pervious concrete is not recommended for sites with the following conditions:

  • Dense Clay Soils: Clay prevents water from draining into the ground, waterlogging the sub-base.
  • High Groundwater: Shallow bedrock or high water tables leave no space for infiltration.
  • Steep Slopes: High slopes cause water to run off the surface rather than percolating downward.
